Jaeger-LeCoultre watches shine in Venice

Reverso Squadra Art Ice verso

For the last seven years, in the first two weeks of September, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been keeping time in Venice, where the brand sponsors the Venice International Film Festival organized by the Biennale di Venezia. Inspired by the unique atmosphere of Venice, Jaeger-LeCoultre presented exquisite Haute Joaillerie watches this year dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Reverso. Playing with light in a scintillating pattern in diamonds and sapphires, the new Reverso Squadra Art Ice crystallizes the mysteries of beauty expressed in the snow-setting technique, the latest gem-setting “savoir-faire” of Jaeger-LeCoultre - 1,300 diamonds and 1,755 sapphires.
The same sparkling diamonds game is used for the case of Grande Reverso UltraThin Neva. A fairytale landscape with dazzling diamond waves enveloping the case reflects the inspiration of the craftsmen of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
With snow-setting, the decorative scheme is realized directly on the watch case, with only the artisan-jeweller’s own creative instinct and knowledge of his materials to guide his hand. One slip and the whole piece may be ruined. The gem-setter places the diamonds one by one, side by side, skillfully matching differently proportioned stones in order to cover the entirety of the watch’s metal. Creative liberty of this kind requires skills and extreme attention to detail. The selection of the diamonds itself demands tremendous expertise: the most daring designs require the tiniest stones to melt into one another.
Obviously the Jaeger-LeCoultre creations sparkled on the Red Carpet as the Venice International Film Festival opened with “The Ides Of March" premiere at the Palazzo del Cinema. Actress Diane Kruger, the brands ambassador for several years, wore Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie 101 watch on her wrist. Italian actress Cristiana Capotondi stepped on the Red Carpet wearing Jaeger-LeCoultre 101 Etrier watch. British actress Natalie Dormer starring in Madonna’s W.E. movie attended the premiere at the Palazzo Del Cinema with Jaeger-LeCoultre 101 Etrier watch and the Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta wore Reverso for the Emergency screening.
Kaya Scodelario starring in Emily Bronte’s adaptation “Wuthering Heights” accentuates her elegance and style with an iconic Grande Reverso Lady Ultra Thin in pink gold. And last, but not least, Al Pacino received the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award in a ceremony that took place on Sunday, followed by the world premiere of Pacino’s third feature-length directorial picture, Wilde Salome.
