Chopard has always created feminine and elegant watches for women, but this year the designers of the brand succeeded something very difficult to achieve – to design a girly watch that attracts also the women who prefer masculine watches. The show started at Baselworld, where Chopard presented the Mille Miglia Racing in pink.
 

For over twenty years Chopard has been partnering Mille Miglia, the historical car race that takes drivers from Brescia to Rome and from Rome to Brescia and every year a new watch is being added to the collection and 2011 has been the first year the company created a watch for women in the sporty collection.  The Mille Miglia Racing in Pink is water-resistant to 100 metres and houses a mechanical self-winding movement visible through the open case-back and beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Chronometer-certified by the COSC, this calibre has a 46-hour power reserve and drives the hour, minute, seconds and date functions. The watch is issued in a limited edition of 1,000, and a version with a diamond-set bezel is also available in a 250-piece limited series.
The sporty feminine show continued this month, with the latest newcomer to the Happy Sport collection, “La vie en rose”, a floral watch model accentuated by the presence of the famous mobile diamonds.
 

This summery version dares to think pink right through to the smallest details: from the bezel set with pink sapphires, to the rosé mother-of-pearl dial and with a matching satin strap. A delicately contoured rose appears against the dial background, while mobile diamonds and pink sapphires dance like dewdrops across its petals. “La vie en rose” also comes with a gem-set rose gold bezel or a non-set bezel.
